Why Dailymotion Used Crowdtesting To Improve Video Streaming Across Multiple Markets And Devices

Global video-sharing platform Dailymotion had a simple goal with a complex problem … to be able to test on every device in every market.

After thinking about the number of devices the company needed to test, multiplied by the number of countries the company operates in plus the various available operating systems, Dailymotion realized that this would be a monumental task to achieve in-house.

With that in mind, Dailymotion concluded that crowdsourced testing was a fast and cost-effective way to solve the problem. By utilizing Applause’s international community of over 250,000 testers, Dailymotion was able to not only get objective feedback but also ensure its viewers have seamless experiences across a multitude of devices.

In the video below, Guillaume Clemént, Dailymotion’s chief product and technology officer, explains how his company partners with Applause to minimize slow loading times, site crashes and improve integrations across all of its platforms and languages.
